Custom Canoe Trips

Our schedule permitting, we can reserve a trip on dates of your choice. If you open your trip to others and give us several months’ notice, scheduled trip rates may apply. Our custom rates are $325 per person per day per person for 1-4 day trips.  $300 per person per day for 5-7 day trips.  All custom trips have a 5 person minimum.  Groups of less than five adults will have to pay a higher fee per person. Groups of 7 or more, represented by one person, may be eligible for a discounted rate, especially in May, June or September. Below are a few trip suggestions. Let us know your needs as far in advance as possible.

MAINE CUSTOM TRIPS

West Branch of the Penobscot — 3-6 days — Lobster Lake — West Branch Penobscot — Chesuncook Village and Chesuncook Lake (beginer and intermediate). Great trip for beginners and families. Paddle Thoreau's legendary trip into the north Maine woods!

East Branch of the Penobscot — 4-7 days - Telos Lake - Webster Stream to Lake Matagamon and East Branch Penobscot River to Whetstone Falls (intermediate and advanced). Class II and III, several hardy portages around waterfalls, a bit of Canada in Maine. Excellent fishing and beautiful views of northern Baxter State Park!

Allagash Wilderness Waterway — Allagash Lake to Allagash Village — 8 - 9 days (intermediate and advanced). Enjoy beautiful Allagash Lake, Allagash Stream and all of the Allagash River on this amazing adventure!

Allagash Wilderness Waterway — Indian Stream to Allagash Village — 6 - 7 days (beginner and intermediate). This is our traditional and most popular Allagash Trip from the headwater lakes to the confluence into the St. John River!

Allagash Wilderness Waterway — Churchill Lake to Allagash Village — 5 days (beginner and intermediate). All of the Allagash River skipping the Upper Lakes and starting at Chase Rapids!

St. John River — 6-8 days — 4th or 5th St. John Pond or Baker Lake - St. John River to Dickey (intermediate and advanced). The St. John offers 110-130 miles of class II-III rapids through Maine's most remote and beautiful wilderness! Runnable in high water only; May, June and after long periods of rain.

St. Croix River — 3-6 days — Forest City or Vanceboro — St. Croix River to Kelly Land (beginner and intermediate). The St. Croix River offers a nice mix of moving water and rapids, nice campsites, smallmouth bass fishing and beautiful sunsets and sunrises! The St. Croix is an excellent river for learning whitewater paddling skills.

Moose River Bow Trip — 3-5 days — Attean Pond or Holeb Pond — Moose River Back to Attean Pond (beginner and intermediate). Great hearty beginner and family trip, with waterfalls, short portage, optional hike up Sally Mt., and a gentle paddle on a winding and scenic river! Can also be a loop trip with a challenging 1-mile portage.

DAY TRIPS — Whitewater canoe instruction (solo and/or tandem skills and methods)

East or west outlet of the Kennebec River flowing out of Moosehead Lake. Beautiful stretches of classic Maine river! Learn to maneuver your canoe in the Moosehead Lake region's most exciting class II-III whitewater!

Canoe Poling — Learn to pole your canoe! Mastering this traditional art will be the single most gratifying skill you can obtain for utilizing your canoe craft! Chip is the 25-time reigning National Canoe Poling Champion and eager to share his passion for the sport!

Bonaventure River, or other Gaspé Bay rivers — 6 days — Steady class I and II rapids, no portage, beautiful river! (intermediate)

Nepisiguit River — 5-6 days — Beautiful territory, rapids, quiet water, waterfalls, some portages. (intermediate)

Quebec Wilderness Trips: Riviére Mistassini or Riviére Misstassibi — 7-9 days — Strong rapids, portages, beautiful waterfalls, remote! (advanced)

Riviére Ashuapmushuan — 7 days - Powerful river, big and technical rapids, beautiful! (advanced)
